Asset declaration of new Deputy Justice Minister Irakli Beraia

Irakli Beraia, recently appointed as the Deputy Minister of Justice, has been disclosed to be a co-owner of three different private companies. Interestingly, his personal assets consist of only one vehicle. The family’s residential property is registered under his wife’s name.
Beraia submitted his asset declaration at the end of 2023, revealing that he was born in Russia, specifically in Saint Petersburg. He is married to Maia Gegeshidze, and together they have two children: Archil and Mariam. The family owns an apartment in Tbilisi, which is in Maia Gegeshidze’s name and was purchased for $81,000. Beraia himself owns a BMW vehicle, which he acquired for $12,000 at the end of 2022.
The declaration also indicates that Beraia, a former deputy, holds nine accounts at Cartu Bank. However, he has only 1,960.81 GEL in one of those accounts, while his wife has a deposit of 3,500 GEL at the same bank.
According to the asset declaration, Irakli Beraia (also referred to as Dachi) owns shares in three companies: Project Management Company LLC, PMK 2013 LLC, and PMK Real Estate LLC, with ownership percentages ranging from 30% to 50%. Notably, the declaration states that he has not received any profits from these businesses.
In 2019, Beraia received a parliamentary salary totaling 58,194.45 GEL, while his wife earned 48,840.3 GEL as the Deputy Head of a division at Cartu Bank.
