Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has said that attracting new investment projects is a key priority for the government, arguing that such developments bring international standards, strengthen regional economies and create employment opportunities.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Swissôtel Kobuleti Beach Resort on Wednesday, Kobakhidze said large-scale investment projects play an important role in supporting Georgia's economic development and expanding its tourism sector.

"Our government considers support for each such project extremely important because new investments bring the highest international standards, improve the economic landscape of the regions and, most importantly, create new jobs for our citizens," he said.

Kobakhidze highlighted Georgia's recent economic performance, noting that the country had recorded strong growth over the past several years.

"Over the past five years, Georgia's economy has grown by an average of 9.3%, and this trend continues this year as well," he said. "Maintaining a high rate of economic growth is very important, and projects such as this will make a significant contribution to the further development of the economy and the tourism sector."

The prime minister said the government would continue to support businesses undertaking similar investment initiatives and congratulated the project's developers and partners on the start of construction.
