Georgian PM discusses energy investment with Chinese DBH Group

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has discussed potential cooperation in the energy sector with representatives of Chinese holding company DBH Group, including possible joint projects in renewable energy.

The meeting focused on Georgia’s investment opportunities and business environment, with particular attention to the development of renewable energy and prospects for cooperation in the sector, the government press office said on Wednesday.

The sides also discussed Georgia’s strategic location and the role of the Middle Corridor, which links Europe and Asia, as an opportunity for international investors.

The government said it welcomed the entry of major international companies into Georgia and was ready to support projects that could contribute to economic growth.

DBH Group was described by the government as a diversified business group with 26 subsidiaries operating in sectors including energy, real estate, mining, biotechnology and hospitality.

The meeting was also attended by Economy and Sustainable Development Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili and Head of the Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani.
