Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has met Kyrgyz Interior Minister Ulan Niyazbekov to discuss bilateral cooperation and security issues, the Georgian government administration said on Friday.

The meeting focused on the development of relations between Georgia and Kyrgyzstan, with both sides highlighting the importance of high-level visits in strengthening bilateral ties.

The Georgian government said documents signed during Kobakhidze's recent visit to Kyrgyzstan had created an important basis for expanding cooperation across various sectors.

The officials also discussed security cooperation at both bilateral and regional levels.

Kobakhidze thanked Niyazbekov for Kyrgyzstan's support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognised borders.

Georgia's Interior Minister Sulkhan Tamezashvili also attended the meeting.
