Historic victory: Georgian Para-Judo team wins European Championship title

The Georgian Para-Judo team has won the European Championship title, marking a historic triumph for the country.

In the team competition, Georgian athletes defeated squads from Italy, France, Moldova, and Turkey, securing the championship crown.

Overall, the Georgian team collected 10 medals at the 2025 European Championship in Tbilisi:

  • 4 gold

  • 2 silver

  • 4 bronze

In individual events, Georgian para athletes earned nine medals. European champions included Giorgi Kaldani (70kg), Levan Gugava (-81kg), and Revaz Chikoidze (+95kg). Silver medals went to Bachuki Shelia (-91kg) and Zviad Gogochuri (-95kg), while bronze was claimed by Ina Kaldani (+70kg), Lasha Kizilashvili (-95kg), Zurab Zurabiani (-70kg), and Saba Baghdavadze (-81kg).
