Levan Mgaloblishvili appointed Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Sport

Former Chair of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, Levan Mgaloblishvili, has been appointed Deputy Minister of Sport of Georgia.

In a social media post, Mgaloblishvili described the role as an opportunity to promote a healthy lifestyle together with his new team.

“I want to thank [Prime Minister] Irakli Kobakhidze and our political team, Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia, for their trust. Serving as Deputy Minister of Sport is an opportunity to work with my team in advancing a healthy way of life”, Mgaloblishvili wrote.

“I would also like to tell our internally displaced citizens and young people that, from any position, I have always been, am, and will remain by your side”, he added.

Mgaloblishvili resigned as Chair of the Government of Abkhazia on June 2.
