Freedom Square leader Levan Tsutskiridze said the restoration of relations with the United States is not possible under the current Georgian Dream government.
Speaking after a meeting with a visiting delegation of congressional staff, Tsutskiridze said the US side was well informed about developments in Georgia.
He said the opposition shared its views and stressed that the main support sought from the United States is support for the Georgian people, aimed at strengthening democracy, statehood, and security in the country.
“The United States has always been our supporter and a strategic partner. This strategic partnership was undermined by the Georgian Dream, and that is why we are where we are today,” Tsutskiridze said.
He added that while the opposition’s goal is to restore the relations Georgia previously had with the United States, this cannot happen under Georgian Dream. Tsutskiridze said Georgia now needs the support of the United States and should be part of strong alliances alongside reliable partners.
