National Defence Academy chief congratulates veterans on professional day

Brigadier General Mamia Balakhadze, head of Georgia’s David Agmashenebeli National Defence Academy, has congratulated veterans on Veterans Day, honouring their service, courage and sacrifices for the country.

In his message on Monday, Balakhadze expressed his respect for veterans who had served Georgia selflessly, saying their dedication, bravery and dignity had helped secure the country’s freedom and independence.

“Their struggle and heroism are a shining example of how to serve one’s homeland and, if necessary, sacrifice one’s life for its bright future,” he said.

Balakhadze also paid special tribute to veterans who had sacrificed their lives or health for the country’s well-being.
