Opposition leader Khazaradze: ‘it is crucial that citizens exercise their constitutional right’

Mamuka Khazaradze, one of the leaders of the Strong Georgia coalition, on Saturday urged citizens to actively participate in the local government elections, stressing the importance of defending democratic choice.

“It is very important that citizens express their constitutional right and not gift their votes to the force that has distanced the country from free choice, isolated it from its European path, and driven it into a serious crisis - into the swamp of corruption and crime,” Khazaradze said after casting his ballot.

He added that his vote was cast in favour of liberating Georgia’s cities, villages, and municipalities.

“I voted for the liberation of cities, villages, and municipalities that rightfully belong to the Georgian people and not to a gang that has altered our historic choice,” Khazaradze stated.
