Mamuka Mamulashvili, commander of the Georgian Legion fighting in Ukraine, on Thursday said neither side has been able to achieve a rapid strategic breakthrough, with the conflict increasingly focused on long-range strikes and the destruction of logistics infrastructure.
Mamulashvili noted the war has evolved beyond the immediate front lines and now extends deep into the rear areas of both countries. He said Ukrainian forces are targeting military and logistical infrastructure, while Russia continues large-scale attacks against civilian areas.
Commenting on recent developments, Mamulashvili stressed that Ukraine had carried out one of its largest drone raids to date, causing significant damage in the Moscow region, including a fire at an industrial processing facility. He said the strike demonstrated Ukraine's growing ability to conduct long-range attacks deep inside Russian territory.
The Georgian Legion commander argued that Ukraine's domestic drone production is expanding and enabling increasingly longer-range operations. He added that Russia is facing mounting challenges and that Ukraine's strategic partners are expected to further complicate Moscow's efforts to achieve its objectives.
"Neither side is capable of delivering a quick strategic turning point. The focus has shifted to long-range strikes and the destruction of logistics networks. I believe this trend will continue and many more targets will be destroyed," Mamulashvili said.
