A March of Unity is scheduled to take place in Tbilisi today. It will begin at 15:00 from the Isani metro station and culminate in a demonstration outside the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Organizers say the march is part of a continued protest against what they describe as an “illegitimate and self-proclaimed” government that does not represent the will of the people. For over 150 days, citizens have taken to the streets daily, they say, to fight against violence, terror, and injustice under the current regime.
"We demand the resignation of this illegitimate government and the release of political prisoners held by the regime," the statement reads.
The protest will proceed to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, located at 38 Noe Ramishvili Street, Kakheti Highway, to confront law enforcement officials who, according to organizers, have “become false witnesses, perpetrators of violence, and instruments of repression.”
“Unity is gaining strength. Together, with determination and persistence, we will stand against illegitimate rule. We are not afraid. We will not stop. We will not surrender. This is a fight for freedom,” the organizers declared in their announcement.
