Giorgi Jamdeliani, Bishop of Marneuli and Hujabi, has called on both the public and the business sector to join efforts in supporting children diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

“I humbly appeal to every member of society - whether representatives of the business community or the private sector - who, by God’s grace, possess financial resources, to become part of this movement,” Bishop Jamdeliani wrote on social media.

The bishop was responding to an initiative launched by a self-organized civic group aimed at helping children suffering from Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

He noted that during His earthly life, Jesus Christ showed particular love toward children because of their purity and kindness, blessing and embracing them. Citing Gospel teachings, Bishop Jamdeliani emphasized that welcoming and caring for children is equal to welcoming Christ Himself.

He also stressed that children must never be neglected or humiliated, recalling the biblical teaching that “their angels in heaven continually see the face of the Heavenly Father.”

Addressing the business community directly, the bishop encouraged companies to organize similar fundraising marathons and charitable initiatives independently.

“As you know, time is a decisive factor,” he wrote.
