Georgia has deported 54 foreign nationals following migration enforcement operations carried out in recent days, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has said.
Those deported included citizens of Turkey, Turkmenistan, Russia, India, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Pakistan, Nigeria, Egypt and the Philippines, as well as several other countries.
The individuals have been banned from re-entering Georgia in accordance with existing legislation, the ministry said on Tuesday.
The Interior Ministry described combating illegal migration as one of its priorities and said 2,090 irregular migrants had been deported from Georgia so far this year.
According to the ministry's figures, 232 foreign nationals were deported in January, 312 in February, 360 in March, 401 in April, 340 in May and 391 in June.
