President Kavelashvili awards former Chinese ambassador Order of the Golden Fleece

Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili has awarded former Chinese Ambassador to Georgia Zhou Qian the Order of the Golden Fleece for his personal contribution to deepening bilateral relations between Georgia and China and for his productive diplomatic work.

As Zhou Qian was not in Georgia, the state award was received on his behalf at the Presidential Palace by Tai Chunyung, Chargé d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Georgia.

According to the President’s press service, Kavelashvili highlighted the significant development of Georgia-China relations during Zhou Qian’s diplomatic mission.

The President also stressed the importance of further deepening relations with the People’s Republic of China and expressed hope that the solid foundation established in recent years would continue to contribute to strengthening the partnership between the two countries.
