The fourth command and staff exercise NATO-Georgia Exercise 2025 has concluded at the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Center (JTEC) near Tbilisi.
Led by JTEC Commander Colonel David Gagua, the exercise involved a series of complex command, control, and field components designed to enhance the interoperability of the Georgian Defense Forces with NATO standards. Colonel Gagua expressed his appreciation to the participants, presenting them with commemorative plaques as a token of recognition.
One of the exercise's highlights was the awarding of the NATO Operational Capabilities Concept Evaluation and Feedback Program (OCC E&FP) certificate to the Charlie Company of the 12th Battalion, 1st Infantry Brigade of the Eastern Command. This certificate, signed at Vaziani, IV Infantry Brigade, confirms the unit's interoperability with NATO’s enhanced forces.
The exercise was not only a command and staff drill but also featured a field component, showcasing JTEC’s ability to manage complex scenarios involving multiple military capabilities. These included military engineering, military police, military medical capabilities, special operations forces, and standardization and codification - six key initiatives defined under the NATO-Georgia Substantive Package (SNGP).
NATO experts were present to monitor compliance with NATO standards, observing units of the Georgian Defense Forces in action. The Eastern Battalion's Military Police Department demonstrated their security tasks, the Combat Engineer Battalion’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) platoon showcased their tactical skills, and the Special Operations Battalion displayed their operational capabilities, the Georgian Defence Ministry said on Thursday.
The exercise was jointly planned by NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SHAPE) and the General Staff of the Georgian Defense Forces, conducted under a NATO-developed scenario. It involved the participation of 17 NATO member and partner countries, alongside several international organizations and units.
