Irakli Beria appointed Georgia’s representative to NATO

Beria has held several high-profile positions within the Georgian government and the state legislature

Irakli Beria has been appointed as Georgia’s new representative to NATO, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Tuesday.
Beria has held several high-profile positions within the Georgian government, including First Deputy Head of the State Security Service and Head of the Intelligence Service.
He has also served in parliament as Chair of both the Defence and Security Committee and the Foreign Relations Committee. Beria previously led Georgia’s parliamentary delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
In addition, he has held senior roles in economic and internal affairs institutions, including Director of the National Investment Agency at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development and Director of the Reform and Development Agency at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
