Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday said Israeli forces will remain in a security zone in southern Lebanon for as long as necessary to ensure the safety of communities in northern Israel.
“We will remain in the security zone in southern Lebanon for as long as necessary to guarantee security in the north,” he said.
Netanyahu warned that security threats in the region persist and said Israel is preparing for multiple potential scenarios.
“The war is not over. Alongside old challenges, new threats are emerging. We know one thing: we must always remain stronger than our enemies,” he said.
The Israeli PM also addressed Iran's nuclear programme, reiterating that Israel would not allow Tehran to acquire nuclear weapons.
"With or without an agreement, Iran will not obtain nuclear weapons," Netanyahu said.
