Parliament elects Davit Mamiseishvili as Supreme Court judge

Georgia’s Parliament has elected Davit Mamiseishvili as a judge of the Supreme Court, with 85 MPs voting in favour and 12 against.

Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili congratulated Mamiseishvili on his election and wished him success in his judicial career.

Mamiseishvili’s candidacy was submitted to Parliament by the High Council of Justice. He has 25 years of professional experience, including 18 years as a judge, the Parliament press office said on Tuesday.

The parliamentary resolution electing Mamiseishvili as a Supreme Court judge will take effect on April 30, 2027, when the relevant judicial position becomes vacant.
