At least 20 people remain missing after a Russian strike caused the collapse of a residential building in Kyiv’s Darnytskyi District, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

Rescue operations are continuing at the site of the attack, where emergency workers have recovered two more bodies from the rubble.

Officials said the death toll from the strike on the nine-storey building has risen to five.

In addition to those killed, authorities said the whereabouts of at least 20 people remain unknown.

The overnight bombardment of Kyiv also left 39 people injured, including one child.

Emergency services said 28 people had been rescued from the scene.
