Russia’s Ministry of Defense said its air defense systems destroyed 193 drones overnight on October 27, describing it as one of the largest Ukrainian drone assaults since the start of the full-scale war.

According to the ministry, the drones were intercepted over multiple regions, including 47 over Bryansk, 42 over Kaluga, 40 over Moscow, 32 over Tula, 10 over Kursk, 7 over Oryol, 4 over Rostov, 4 over Voronezh, 2 over Orenburg, 2 over Tambov, 1 over Lipetsk, and 1 over Samara.

The statement claimed that 34 of the drones over Moscow were flying toward the city itself, but all were allegedly intercepted before reaching their targets.

Russian media outlets reported on the evening of October 26 that unidentified drones attempted to attack Moscow. Mayor Sergei Sobyanin later wrote on Telegram that the capital’s air defenses had “shot down everything.”

Earlier that day, explosions were heard near an airfield in the Moscow region believed to host Russia’s strategic aviation units. Ukrainian drones reportedly targeted the Shaikovka strategic aviation airbase and Kaluga Airport in the Kaluga region.

At the same time, satellite images circulating online appeared to show damage from Ukrainian strikes on the Belgorod Reservoir dam in Russia, where four Russian brigades are stationed. The images indicate flooding of several Russian troop positions in the area.
