United Russia leads as four parties cross 5% threshold in State Duma election

United Russia is leading Russia's parliamentary election with 57.83% of the vote, as four parties have crossed the 5% threshold required to enter the State Duma through the party-list system, preliminary figures from Russia's Central Election Commission show on Monday.

With 95.01% of ballots counted, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation had 13.81%, the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia 8.97% and New People 7.96%. A Just Russia was on 4.96%, just below the threshold.

The results indicate that United Russia, the Communist Party, the Liberal Democratic Party and New People are set to enter the ninth-convocation State Duma, while A Just Russia could lose its party-list representation.

In the remote electronic vote, United Russia received 49.06%, followed by New People with 15.42%, the Communist Party with 12.26% and the Liberal Democratic Party with 10.79%.

Russia's parliamentary elections were held from 18 to 20 September. According to the Central Election Commission, voter turnout exceeded 56%.
