Chief of Georgian Defense Forces attends US Army’s 250th Anniversary in Germany

Lieutenant General Giorgi Matiashvili, Chief of the Georgian Defense Forces, visited the Federal Republic of Germany to attend a ceremony marking the 250th anniversary of the United States Army.
The event took place in the city of Wiesbaden and was hosted by US Army Europe and Africa Commander, General Christopher Donahue, who personally invited the Georgian general.
During the celebration, Lt. Gen. Matiashvili congratulated the US Army on its milestone anniversary and held discussions with General Donahue on ongoing and future cooperation between the United States and Georgia in the defense sector.
According to Georgia’s Ministry of Defense, the parties highlighted the crucial role of the United States in the development and transformation of Georgia’s Defense Forces. Lt. Gen. Matiashvili expressed his gratitude for the practical support the US continues to provide to Georgia’s defense capabilities.
