Two Interpol red notice fugitives arrested in western Georgia

Two foreign nationals wanted under Interpol Red Notices have been arrested in Georgia’s Adjara region, the Interior Ministry said on Thursday.

The  two were wanted at the request of German law enforcement authorities in connection with several serious offences, including kidnapping for ransom, rape and causing bodily harm.

The suspects had entered Georgia before international arrest notices were issued against them, the ministry said.

Extradition procedures are currently underway for both detainees.
