Republican Senator Lindsey Graham expressed strong support on Saturday for former President Donald Trump’s efforts to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine, calling for an “honorable and just” resolution to the conflict sparked by Russia’s 2022 invasion.

In a post on X, Graham wrote:
“I very much appreciate @POTUS @realDonaldTrump and his team working diligently to end the war in Ukraine — that was created by Putin’s barbaric invasion — in an honorable and just way.”

Graham also highlighted bipartisan legislation he is championing that would impose secondary tariffs on countries that continue to purchase Russian oil, gas, uranium, or other products. According to Graham, the bill has attracted nearly 60 cosponsors from both sides of the aisle.

“The Senate stands ready to move in this direction and will do so overwhelmingly if Russia does not embrace an honorable, just and enduring peace,” he added.
