Georgia's Interior Ministry has rejected reports that 20,000 Russian citizens crossed into Georgia through the Larsi border crossing over a 24-hour period.

The ministry said the figure was false and accused individuals of deliberately spreading disinformation.

According to official data, 7,880 citizens of various countries entered Georgia through the Larsi border crossing during the previous 24 hours.

During the same period, 8,406 citizens of various countries left Georgia through the same crossing, the ministry said.

The Interior Ministry urged media outlets and other interested parties to refrain from spreading unverified information or presenting official data in a misleading or distorted form.

The statement did not provide a breakdown of the 7,880 arrivals by nationality.
