Georgian police have detained three Turkish nationals who were the subject of Interpol red notices on serious criminal charges, the Interior Ministry said on Friday.
The arrests were carried out by officers from the Central Criminal Police Department and the Adjara Police Department during separate operations in Tbilisi and Batumi, the MIA press office added.
The ministry identified the detainees as N.G., born in 1978, O.K., born in 1989, and O.T., born in 1998.
O.K. was wanted on charges of trafficking narcotic or psychotropic substances, while N.G. was sought for allegedly unlawfully depriving a person of liberty using force or deception, the Turkish law enforcement said.
O.T. was wanted by Turkey on multiple charges, including drug trafficking or supply, causing bodily harm, defamation, and theft.
Officials said the individuals had crossed into Georgia before international search warrants were issued against them.
O.K. was detained in Tbilisi, while N.G. and O.T. were arrested in Batumi, western Georgia. Pre-extradition procedures are now under way, the ministry added.
