Georgian Interior Ministry officers win six medals at World Police and Fire Games 2025 in US

Officers from Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs claimed four gold and two silver medals at the 2025 World Police and Fire Games held in Birmingham, Alabama, USA.
Representing Georgia on the international stage, the ministry’s athletes competed among thousands of participants from around the globe.
Koba Kobakhidze, head of the Patrol Police Department in the Samtskhe-Javakheti region, took first place and won a gold medal in power bench press. His colleague from the Patrol Police Department, Levan Giligashvili, also secured a gold medal in the same discipline.
Adamur Arkania, head of a division within the Ministry’s Logistics Department, won two gold medals in arm wrestling, bringing Georgia’s gold medal total to four.
In addition, Teimuraz Kalandadze, Director of the Mtskheta-Mtianeti Police Department, and Ilia Jadugishvili from the Facilities Protection Department, each earned silver medals in power bench press.
The medal-winning athletes were welcomed back to Tbilisi International Airport by Deputy Interior Minister Giorgi Butkhuzi, Patrol Police Director Levan Maisuradze, other ministry officials, and their families.
The World Police and Fire Games, launched in 1985, are held every two years in cities around the world. This year’s event in Birmingham brought together 8,500 athletes from 70 countries, competing in 60 different sports.
