Police in Georgia have arrested one person on charges of stealing ₾12,130 ($4,604) from self-service payment terminals, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said on Sunday.
The Ministry said the suspect unlawfully took the money from payment terminals belonging to a private company on multiple occasions.
Investigators said the suspect allegedly used specialised software to reset the terminals' operating system in an attempt to conceal the thefts.
During searches of the suspect and his vehicle, police seized a mobile phone, a handle used to open the payment terminals and a key as evidence.
The suspect was arrested on the basis of a court warrant following operational and investigative measures.
The crime carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
