Georgia’s Ambassador to the United States, Tamar Taliashvili, has met with US Senator Rand Paul, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.

According to a statement released by the Embassy of Georgia in the United States, Senator Paul, a Republican - also serves on the Senate Committees on Foreign Relations; Health, Education, Labor and Pensions; and Small Business and Entrepreneurship.

“The meeting focused on prospects for strengthening Georgia-US relations,” the embassy said. “The sides also discussed recent developments in the region, the importance of peace initiatives, and other pressing issues in the context of international relations.”
