Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for a strong international response after a deadly Russian missile strike on the city of Sumy. The attack, which involved ballistic missiles, has so far claimed the lives of 31 people, including two children, and left 83 injured.
“Only a scoundrel is capable of such actions—taking the lives of ordinary people,” Zelensky said. “I extend my condolences to the victims’ families. Rescue operations are ongoing, and all emergency services are working at full capacity.”
He urged the United States, Europe, and the global community to take a firmer stance against Russian aggression.
“There can be no peace without pressure on the aggressor. Ballistic missiles and aerial bombs have never stopped talking. The world must treat Russia as it would any terrorist,” he emphasized.
