Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that Ukraine, the United States and Russia will hold their first trilateral meeting at a technical level in the coming days. The talks are expected to take place in the United Arab Emirates.

Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Zelenskyy said that a US delegation is travelling to Moscow today. He noted that before heading to talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, US officials had been expecting a meeting between Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump.

“Now they will travel, and my team will meet with the American team. I believe this will be the first trilateral meeting in the United Arab Emirates, likely taking place tomorrow or the day after. Yes, it will be a two-day meeting,” Zelenskyy said.

He added that launching trilateral working groups at a tactical level would be a positive step.

“I think it is good if working groups begin trilateral meetings at a tactical level. I hope we will find something. Russians must be ready for compromises. Everyone must be ready for compromises, not only Ukraine. Let us see what the outcome will be. This is better than having no dialogue at all,” Zelenskyy said.

The President also said that both Ukraine and Russia are currently facing difficult circumstances. He noted that many Ukrainians have been left without electricity as a result of Russian strikes, while Russia is also facing consequences in response to its attacks.
