Dato Kodua is a Georgian Dream party MP in the Parliament

Georgian Dream party chairman and Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Monday announced mayoral candidates for nine municipalities in the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region for upcoming municipal elections on 4 October.

In five municipalities - Poti, Khobi, Senaki, Abasha, and Mestia - the ruling party has nominated incumbent mayors for re-election.

For the other four municipalities, the GD nominated MP Dato Kodua as its mayoral candidate in Zugdidi, former parliamentarian Jumber Izoria in Chkhorotsku, entrepreneur Giorgi Nachkebia in Martvili, and public official Guba Sajaia in Tsalenjikha.

“We are nominating incumbent mayors in five out of nine municipalities in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti: Beka Vacharadze in Poti, Davit Bukia in Khobi, Vakhtang Gadelia in Senaki, Giga Gabelia in Abasha, and Kapiton Zhorzholiani in Mestia.

Our mayoral candidates for the remaining four municipalities are MP Dato Kodua in Zugdidi, former MP Jumber Izoria in Chkhorotsku, successful entrepreneur Giorgi Nachkebia in Martvili, and accomplished public official Guba Sajaia in Tsalenjikha,” Kobakhidze said.
