The individuals who have never contracted the coronavirus infection get it more easily, Maya Butsashvili, an infectious disease specialist, said Wednesday, responding to the surge in daily infections.
She suggested that nausea, vomiting and diarrhea were quite common symptoms for the Omicron strain of the virus.
Butsashvili said that unlike the previous practice, it was recommended to test for the virus as soon as symptoms appeared.
Georgia reported 11,802 cases of coronavirus between July 24 and July 31 out of the 76,309 tests.
The virus has claimed 10 lives in the reported period, the National Centre for Disease Control of Georgia said on Tuesday.
The health authorities have warned the public of an upward trend, encouraging them to get the Covid shot.
Georgia has confirmed 1,686,218 cases of coronavirus since February 2020.
