NATO calls for supplying Ukraine with weapons

NATO has called on Germany and other countries of the North Atlantic Alliance to continue supplying weapons to Ukraine, citing the move as the “the fastest way to peace”, NATO secretary general Jens Stoltenberg, said on Thursday.

"It may sound paradoxical, but military support for Ukraine is the fastest way to peace," Stoltenberg said.

He noted Ukrainian attacks on Russian military facilities were absolutely legal.

"Every country has the right to defend itself, including Ukraine," Stoltenberg stressed.

When asked whether he supports the delivery of medium-range missiles to Ukraine, Stoltenberg said that "dialogue between allies and Ukraine over specific systems is ongoing."
