Georgian Vice PM’s presence at Beijing forum along with Putin “moral, political collapse” - opposition MP

Roman Gotsiridze, the Georgian opposition MP, on Monday slammed Vice Prime Minister and Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili for attending a forum and a subsequent banquet in Beijing earlier this month along with Russian President Vlamir Putin.

"Participation of the Georgian delegation at the forum where Putin was present is wrong. Even if this happened due to some circumstances, due to the issues that concern Georgia, there is an elementary moral position and he [Davitashvili] still would not sit at the table with him.

Symbols are very important. The Vice-Prime Minister of Georgia together with Putin at one table, which was also a political table, means both moral and political collapse,"Gotsiridze said.

Georgia signed a strategic agreement with China earlier this year.
