The mother of late Georgian programmer Tamar Bachaliashvili has been summoned to the Prosecutor's Office for a meeting as her family seeks a reopening of the investigation into her daughter's death.
Teona Tamazashvili said on social media that prosecutors had contacted her and asked her to attend a meeting at 17:00 on Friday.
"I received a call from the Prosecutor's Office and was summoned to a meeting today at 17:00. I will inform you of the outcome of the meeting later," Tamazashvili wrote.
Bachaliashvili's family appealed to the Prosecutor's Office several days ago, requesting that the investigation into her death be reopened.
Bachaliashvili, 23, disappeared on 18 July 2020. She was found dead several days later inside her car in a forest in Tetritskaro.
Investigators concluded that Bachaliashvili had died by suicide and closed the case. Her family has continued to challenge that conclusion and is seeking a renewed investigation.
