Georgian PM is certain in ruling party’s victory in October 26 elections

Ruling Georgian Dream’s campaign chief and Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze expressed confidence that on October 26, the entire country would choose “peace, independence, traditional values, and a bright future for Georgia.” Speaking at a regional campaign event in Telavi, Kakheti region, he declared that this decision is inevitable and without an alternative.

Addressing supporters, Kobakhidze emphasized Kakheti’s historical significance, its resilience in defending the nation and faith, and its symbolic role in preserving Georgia’s cultural heritage. He reminded attendees of the pivotal role that the Georgian Dream played in defeating the “bloody regime” in 2012, referring to the previous United National Movement-led government.

“These crimes included murder and torture, business racketeering, the seizure of television stations, election fraud, and many others. Most importantly, the treasonous actions of these individuals cost our country 20% of its territory – the loss of our historic regions, Abkhazia and Samachablo. This is treason, for which the guilty must be held accountable to the full extent of the Constitution and the law,” the PM stressed.

Kobakhidze praised the progress made under Georgian Dream’s leadership over the past 12 years, highlighting improvements in economic growth, healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure. He also acknowledged the party’s founder and Honorary Chair, Bidzina Ivanishvili, for his continued dedication to Georgia’s national interests and development.

“Bidzina Ivanishvili remains the main guarantor of state independence, peace, and the country’s development in our nation today. I thank our party’s founder and honorary chairman for the dedication and selflessness with which he has defended Georgia’s national interests for many years,” he added.

The upcoming election, Kobakhidze said, is a referendum where Georgians must decide between war and peace, subservience to foreign powers or national independence, and between moral decay or traditional values. Confident in victory, he declared that 41, Georgian Dream’s election number, would emerge triumphant, securing Georgia’s future on October 26.

“May God protect our country,” Kobakhidze concluded.
