Georgia’s territorial integrity is of national importance, and its restoration can only be achieved through peaceful means, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said in an exclusive interview with Euronews.
Responding to a question about reclaiming the occupied regions, Kobakhidze emphasized that there is no alternative to a peaceful solution. “Our territorial integrity is recognized by the international community, and we must protect our national interests with a firmly peaceful approach,” he stated, expressing hope that, in time, a resolution would become realistic.
On the possibility of reopening Russia’s embassy in Georgia, Kobakhidze ruled out the idea, citing Russia’s recognition of Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region as independent states. He stressed that now is not the time to restore diplomatic ties but reaffirmed Georgia’s pragmatic approach to maintaining trade and economic relations with Russia.
