Ex-President Saakashvili urges unity ahead of elections: “Georgia faces mortal danger”

In a social media post, Georgia’s third president, Mikheil Saakashvili, called on all political parties and citizens to unite and ensure voter turnout for the upcoming elections.

He stressed that Georgia is in “mortal danger,” warning that if citizens fail to mobilize on October 26, the country risks losing its visa-free status with the EU, facing severe economic decline, and potentially becoming “a part of Russia.”

“Let’s not compete with promises, but join hands and bring our voters to the polls. Only through unity can we save Georgia,” Saakashvili wrote, urging political parties to provide transportation for voters from the regions to their polling stations, stressing that “every lost vote poses a deadly threat.”
