Chair of the opposition United National Movement (UNM), Tina Bokuchava, emphasized the urgency of unity while addressing the protesters, stressing that now is not the time to focus on differences but to work together to save the country.
“Today, alongside us on this stage stands President Zourabichvili, as well as Georgia’s fourth president, Giorgi Margvelashvili. And watching with hope from captivity is our third president, Mikheil Saakashvili, who was the first to raise the EU flag here in Georgia. But we must be the ones to carry it forward together to the ultimate victory,” she said.
She further stated that the current parliament would remain illegitimate until new elections are held.
’’We all understand that now is not the time to focus on differences because our country’s survival depends on it, and saving the country is only possible through unity. This parliament will not be legitimate until new elections are held,” Bokuchava declared.
