The ruling Georgian Dream party has suspended the parliamentary powers of key leaders, including Honorary Chair and founder Bidzina Ivanishvili and party Chair Irakli Garibashvili, alongside cabinet members, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Anri Okhanashvili, Maka Bochorishvili, Mariam Kvrivishvili, Davit Songhulashvili, and presidential candidate Mikheil Kavelashvili.
Their roles are deemed incompatible with parliamentary mandates, prompting replacements from the party’s proportional list – Levan Machavariani, Archil Gorduladze, Salome Kurasbediani, Salome Jinjolava, Tornike Berekashvili, Tornike Cheishvili, Paata Salia, and Giorgi Guguchia.
Opposition parties, rejecting the election results, are boycotting parliamentary sessions. Some opposition MPs have formally requested the cancellation of their mandates, but Georgian Dream has not yet addressed these appeals.
