Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has stated that political hostility and hatred will come to an end in Georgia once the opposition party, the United National Movement (UNM), is banned. In remarks to journalists, Kobakhidze accused the opposition of promoting a culture of hatred and divisiveness.
“Liberal fascism is the signature of our political opponents,” said Kobakhidze, pointing out that the opposition engages in campaigns of hatred and hostility.
“This isn’t unique to Georgia. If you look at other countries, you can see that similar forces, directed by the same global centers, are trying to spread hatred and division worldwide. We must do everything in our power to confront this hatred in our country,” the PM added.
He emphasized that the upcoming October 26 elections will be crucial in deciding Georgia’s future direction, saying that defeating hatred in the political arena is a key objective.
“One thing is clear—when the collective UNM is banned in Georgia, hatred and hostility in our politics will immediately end,” Kobakhidze concluded.
