Opposition leader calls on voters to reject isolation and move towards EU

“Today, we must reject isolation and move forward toward Europe—this is what I voted for,” stated Gigi Tsereteli, one of the leaders of the opposition United National Movement (UNM), after casting his ballot.

Tsereteli emphasized the need for Georgia to break from isolation and pursue a European path, describing the current election as historically significant.

“Today is truly a historic election for this country, and it will determine the course of Georgia’s future. I know that our people want a better Georgia, a peaceful, developed nation, free from division. They want this country to be a European one, meeting all European standards, especially those that bring prosperity,” Tsereteli remarked.

The parliamentary elections in Georgia are underway, with 3,508,294 registered voters participating on October 26.
