Former Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia’s for Georgia party on Tuesday reaffirmed its commitment to attend the dinner hosted by President Salome Zourabichvili at the Orbelian Palace in the afternoon following her calls to the party and the Strong Georgia opposition coalition the previous day to unite ahead of the October general elections.
The party’s press office told the media For Georgia members would appear at the Palace in the afternoon, while Mamuka Khazaradze, the leader of the Strong Georgia coalition, had requested a face-to-face meeting with Gakharia first.
In her appeal the President claimed the unity of the specific parties could attract undecided voters in the October 26 elections.
